The predecessor of Shaanxi University of Traditional Chinese Medicine was the Northwest Traditional Chinese Medicine Training School founded in Xi'an in 1952. It was upgraded to the Shaanxi College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1959 and moved to the ancient capital of Xianyang in 1961. It is the only general institution of higher learning in Shaanxi that trains senior Chinese medicine talents. It is the 8 key Chinese traditional Chinese hospitals designated by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China document No. 56 in 1978. One of the universities, it began to recruit and cultivate master's students in 1978. In 1981, it became the first batch of master's authorized units in the country. In 1990, it was approved by the Ministry of Education as the first batch of colleges and universities to conditionally accept foreign students and students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. In 2015, it was renamed as Shaanxi University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. After more than 60 years of construction and development, Shaanxi University of Traditional Chinese Medicine has become a medical college with traditional Chinese medicine as the main body, and multi-disciplinary majors in medicine, science, engineering, literature, and management are mutually supportive and cross-integrated.

1. Basic situation

The north campus of the school is located in the ancient capital of Xianyang, and the south campus is located on Xixian Avenue, Xixian New District, with a total area of 796675.3 square meters. The Second Affiliated Hospital was built in January 1973, formerly known as the "Second Textile Hospital of Shaanxi Province". In 2008, the restructuring system was transferred to our school.
