The school has a long history of running a school and a profound cultural heritage. The predecessor was the Northern Shaanxi Public School founded by the Communist Party of China in Yan'an in 1937. After Yan'an University, Northwest People's Revolution University, Northwest Political and Law Cadre School, and Northwest Branch of Central Political and Law Cadre School, in 1958, the Law Department of Northwest University was transferred into the establishment and established Xi'an College of Political Science and Law, which was later renamed Northwest University of Political Science and Law and Northwest University of Political Science and Law. Undergraduate Education
The school insists on the foundation and quality of the school. Since 1958, undergraduate education has been started, so far there is a history of undergraduate education for 60 years. There are currently 32 undergraduate majors, with more than 13,000 undergraduate students. Twelve majors including law have been selected into the construction or cultivation project of "first-rate majors" in Shaanxi Province. Philosophy, investigative science, and journalism are national-level specialty majors, and law and journalism are selected as national-level professional comprehensive reform pilot projects. The school is the country’s first batch of colleges and universities to implement the “Excellent Legal Talent Education and Training Program”. Foreign exchange
