Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology is located in the historical and cultural city of Xi’an. It has two campuses, Yanta and Caotang, and a science and education industrial park. The school has a long history and profound background. It can be traced back to Beiyang University, which was founded in 1895. In 1956, when the colleges and departments of the country were adjusted, the former Northeast Institute of Technology, Northwest Institute of Technology, Qingdao Institute of Technology and Sunan Industrial High The college’s civil engineering, architecture, and municipal departments (divisions) were merged and formed, and accumulated the earliest batch of civil, architectural, and municipal disciplines in the history of modern higher education in China. At that time, it was named Xi’an Institute of Architecture and Engineering, which was the northwestern region of New China. In 1959 and 1963, the school was renamed Xi'an Institute of Metallurgy and Xi'an Institute of Metallurgy and Architecture successively; on March 8, 1994, it was renamed "Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology" with the approval of the former State Education Commission. In 1998, the school was transferred to the Shaanxi Provincial People's Government.
