Shandong Aluminum Vocational College was founded in 1958, and its predecessor was the 51st Factory Amateur Engineering College of the same age as the Republic. In July 2004, it became a full-time higher vocational college approved by the Shandong Provincial People's Government and filed by the Ministry of Education. It is the only higher vocational college in my country’s aluminum industry system, the first batch of “high-skilled talent training demonstration bases” in the country, the first batch of modern apprenticeship industry pilot colleges and universities of the Ministry of Education, and a national employee education and training demonstration site. The college covers an area of 1,674 acres, including two campuses in Zibo and Weihai. The new campus in Weihai covers an area of about 924 acres, with a total construction area of 350,000 square meters. It will be constructed in two phases. The first phase covers an area of about 597 acres. The area is 197,000 square meters.

The college has set up 12 teaching units, including the School of Mechanical Engineering, the School of Business Administration, the Internet School, the Department of Metallurgy and Chemical Engineering, and the Department of Ideological and Political Education.
