Qingdao Huanghai College was established in 1996. It is an ordinary undergraduate university approved by the Ministry of Education and qualified to issue a bachelor's degree. In 2003, it was approved by the People's Government of Shandong Province as a general college. In 2011, it was upgraded to a general undergraduate college approved by the Ministry of Education. In 2014, it passed the special evaluation of the teaching work of private undergraduate colleges in Shandong Province.
