Shandong Police Academy is located in Jinan, the capital of Shandong Province. Its predecessor was Shandong Police Academy. It was founded in 1946 and was the first police school in the history of the Communist Party of China.
College is a public security college and an important part of Shandong public security organs. It is the teaching and research base and professional training base of public security organs in the province. It is known as the cradle of Shandong public security police. The main task is to recruit and train full-time general public security college students, and send public security professionals who are politically qualified, proficient in business, good style, and strong responsibilities to the public security organs; undertake the training of the backbone of public security organs across the country and the province as well as the professional training of in-service civilian police and senior foreigners The task of training police officers is the training base for county and city public security chiefs nationwide, and one of the national foreign aid training bases determined by the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of Commerce.
The college now has 7 undergraduate majors in investigation, public security, criminal science and technology, economic crime investigation, traffic management engineering, public security intelligence, network security and law enforcement. Has the right to grant bachelor degrees in law and engineering. There are 2 provincial-level key disciplines, 3 provincial-level characteristic majors, and 1 high-level applied project construction major (group). In November 2017, it was approved by the Provincial Department of Education as a master's degree project construction unit.
The college has 2 campuses. The Mingshui campus (No. 2555 Zhanglai Road, Zhangqiu District, Jinan City) is mainly responsible for full-time general undergraduate education. Wenhua East Road Campus (No. 54 Wenhua East Road, Lixia District, Jinan City) is mainly responsible for the training of in-service police officers and senior foreign police officers. The two campuses cover an area of 1,745 acres, with a total area of 280,000 square meters.
The college has more than 40 professional laboratories and practical skills training venues including crime scene investigation, crime intelligence, security protection, video investigation, trace inspection and extraction, automobile construction, electronic data forensics, and Sanda combat training. There are 51 teaching practice bases in the public security organs of 17 cities in the province. Two independent campus LANs are respectively interconnected with the "China Education and Research Network" and the "Public Security Information Network". The library has a collection of more than 750,000 books.
The college has a reasonable age structure, knowledge structure, professional structure, and title structure that can meet the needs of public security education and teaching.
