Shandong Agricultural Engineering College is an ordinary undergraduate college approved by the Ministry of Education. The predecessor of the school was the "May 7th" Cadre School of Shandong Province established in June 1971. It passed through the "May 7th" Cadre School of Shandong Provincial Organs, Shandong Agricultural and Forestry Cadre School, and Shandong Agricultural Management Cadre College. It was rebuilt in April 2013. Shandong Agricultural Engineering College.
The school has two campuses in Jinan and Jibei, covering an area of 2671 acres. There are 16 teaching colleges with 579 full-time teachers, including 201 teachers with senior professional titles, 421 teachers with a master's degree or above, 2 specially-appointed academicians of the Academy of Engineering, 2 experts enjoying special government allowances from the State Council, and 1 backbone teachers in higher education institutions of the Ministry of Education 1 expert from the provincial agricultural expert advisory group, 3 experts on the provincial modern agricultural industrial technology system post, 1 expert on the provincial agricultural field "653 Project", 1 provincial famous teaching teacher, 7 provincial outstanding teachers, advanced agricultural science and technology in the province 3 individuals. There are currently 24 undergraduate majors and 20 junior majors enrolled in 2018, covering 6 disciplines of engineering, agriculture, management, economics, literature, and art. There are more than 12,000 full-time ordinary students. The school has 1 national-level teaching reform pilot major, 9 provincial-level teaching reform pilots and specialty majors, 1 provincial-level high-level application-oriented project construction professional group, 1 provincial-level application-oriented talent training and development support program major, and 2 provinces Level-level enterprises and schools jointly built engineering majors, 22 provincial-level quality courses, and built a good platform for application-oriented talent training. There are 83 laboratories and training centers, an ecological park covering an area of 500 acres, a total value of more than 64 million yuan in teaching and research equipment, 840,000 paper books in the library, and 101 off-campus practice bases. The school's teaching construction and reform have achieved outstanding results, and won 1 first prize for provincial teaching achievements, and 7 second and third prizes.
In June 2012, the school was identified by the National Civil Service Bureau as the first batch of "National Civil Servants Characteristic Practice Education Bases", and it is one of the 10 characteristic practice education bases in the country. Since 2010, the school has undertaken 13 national projects, 103 provincial and ministerial projects, obtained more than 40 national patent authorizations, formulated 18 national or local standards, and 6 provincial and ministerial scientific and technological progress awards. It undertakes training tasks for civil servants in the east and west of the country, agricultural leaders at county level and new farmers, and trains more than 3,000 people at all levels and types of personnel each year. The school has established friendly cooperative relations with many universities in Australia and South Korea.
The college attaches great importance to the all-round development and individualized growth of students. The characteristics of cultural, artistic and sports activities with the theme of "Spring", "Summer Wind", "Autumn Sound", and "Winter Fire" have become increasingly prominent. Since 2015, students have won nearly 400 awards at or above the provincial level in mathematical modeling and other national and provincial vocational skills competitions. Student associations have won 84 national college campus cultural construction outstanding achievement awards, and the province’s college cultural construction outstanding achievements More than 100 awards.
Since the "13th Five-Year Plan", the school has fully implemented the party's educational policy, closely centered on the fundamental task of cultivating people with morality, implemented the school-running strategy of "building a school with quality, building a school with talents, building a school with scientific research, and building a school with characteristics", and insisted on agricultural engineering. As a characteristic, with engineering as the main body, serving the modern agricultural industry as the main line, promoting the coordinated development of industry, agriculture, economics, management, art and literature, cultivating modern agricultural engineers and beautiful rural design with firm ideals and beliefs, solid theoretical foundation, good engineering literacy, and outstanding practical ability division. At present, the whole school is fully implementing the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, and working hard to build the school into a high-level modern application-oriented undergraduate college.
