Shandong University of Political Science and Law is located in Jinan, a famous historical and cultural city. On July 20, 1955, Shandong Provincial People's Committee issued Lurending (55) Zi No. 1618 Notice, deciding to establish Shandong Provincial Political and Law Cadre School. On February 24, 1959, in accordance with the spirit of the "Notice of the Shandong Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China on the Establishment of Shandong Institute of Political Science and Law" [Lu Fa 59 No. 169], Shandong Institute of Political Science and Law was formally established, and Shu Tong, then the first secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, wrote the name of the school. On December 23, 1979, the Shandong Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China decided to resume the establishment of the Shandong Provincial Political and Legal Cadre School under the "Notice on the Establishment of the Provincial Judicial Department and the Provincial Political and Legal Cadre School" [Lu Fa (1979) No. 81]. On October 3, 1983, the Shandong Provincial Department of Education approved the No. 80 Document: It was agreed to transform the Shandong Provincial Political and Law Cadre School into the Shandong Provincial Judicial Management Cadre College. In October 1987, it was renamed Shandong Politics and Law Management Cadre College. In February 2005, preparations for the establishment of Shandong University of Political Science and Law began. On March 16 and April 26, 2007, the Ministry of Education and the Shandong Provincial People's Government respectively issued documents agreeing to formally establish the Shandong Institute of Political Science and Law.
