　　 The school was established on July 4, 2011 by the merger of the former Shandong University of Economics and the former Shandong University of Finance, and was officially inaugurated on June 9, 2012. The predecessor of Shandong University of Economics, Shandong University of Finance and Economics, was established in 1952 by the merger of Shandong Accounting School and the Department of Economics of Qilu University.
