Shanxi Health Vocational College was founded in August 1953. It is a medical higher vocational college approved by the People's Government of Shanxi Province and registered by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China. It is affiliated to the Health Committee of Shanxi Province.
College Overview
The college and the Shanxi Provincial School of Traditional Chinese Medicine implement two brands, one party committee, and unified management. They are all fully funded institutions approved by the Provincial Organization Office and are under the management of the Shanxi Provincial Health Commission. The college covers an area of 285.77 mu, with a total construction area of 209,600 square meters.
Since the establishment of the school, it has always been based on the motto of "Honesty, Knowledge, Prudence, and Yuan Zhi", and has successively trained the first "Bethune" medal winner in the country, the "People's Good Doctor" Zhao Xuefang, and the first "Bethune" medal in the Chinese medicine community. There are more than 100,000 medical and health professionals at all levels and various types represented by Wang Xueshi, a national moral model, and have made important contributions to promoting the development of the province’s medical and health services.
In recent years, under the leadership of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government, and with the strong support and help of the Provincial Department of Health and the Provincial Department of Education, various undertakings of the college have developed vigorously.
The college is the first batch of "1+X" certificate system pilot institutions of the Ministry of Education; the chairman unit of the Shanxi Vocational Education Health Food and Drug Professional Teaching Guidance Committee; the Shanxi Provincial Basic Health Personnel Training Base; the "Shanxi Nursing Workers" Targeted Poverty Alleviation Training Base ; Shanxi Province Hospitalized (Specialist) Physician Standardized Training and Assistant General Practitioner Training Management Center; Shanxi Province Continuing Medical Education Management Center; Shanxi Province’s only generic drug consistency analysis and testing center unit; Shanxi Province Medicine, Health and Health Vocational Education Group initiated People and lead unit.
History
The college was established in August 1953 and has a history of more than 50 years. It has changed its name several times during its development.
In 1958, it was restructured into "Taiyuan Medical College" and "Second Department of Shanxi Medical College". Hold general undergraduate education for 6 years.
In 1981, it was renamed Shanxi Medical and Health Workers College. In the meantime, general undergraduate education was held for 10 years under the name of "Shanxi Medical College Chinese Medicine University Class".
Approved by the provincial government in 1986, it was filed by the State Education Commission and was renamed as "Shanxi Medical College for Staff and Workers."
In 1993, it was approved by the State Education Commission to hold undergraduate education for adults.
Since 2001, counterparts have been promoted to higher vocational education.
Since 2003, general higher vocational education has been held.
Reorganized into Shanxi Health Vocational College in 2018
In 2019, it cooperated with Shanxi Kangyang Group to establish the first health care college in the province

Transformation and Leap
In October 2013, the college moved into the campus of Shanxi Province as a whole, so that the bottleneck problem that plagued the development of the college was basically solved.
