Taiyuan City Vocational and Technical College is a full-time public higher vocational college organized by the People's Government of Taiyuan City. The college is located in the west of Shengli Bridge in Taiyuan City. The landscaped campus is adjacent to the Fenhe Wetland Park. The environment is beautiful and the scenery is pleasant. There are more than 5,000 students in the school, and the average employment rate is 90%.
The college has three campuses: Xinghua Street, Jianshe Road and Jinci Road. The main campus of Xinghua Street has Wang Maolin, the former secretary of the Shanxi Provincial Party Committee, and the "Wang Maolin Donated Book Collection" in our school, with a collection of nearly 30,000 books. The college is the cultivation and construction unit of high-quality higher vocational colleges in Shanxi Province, the pacesetter of civilized units in Taiyuan, the Sino-Australian cultural research and exchange base in Taiyuan, the national "demonstrative unit of energy-saving public institutions", and the "first school for football projects in national higher vocational colleges" Yipin” demonstration base.
The college currently has 402 faculty members. Among them, there are 252 full-time teachers, 8 doctors, 150 masters; 8 professors, 69 associate professors, 159 lecturers, and 120 dual-qualified teachers. In addition, the college has also long-term hired a group of well-known professors, experts and corporate professionals as guest professors and part-time teachers of the college to participate in the professional construction and teaching work of the college. At present, there are more than 30 faculty members who have a certain degree of social influence in various provinces and cities across the country.
The college has 31 majors, focusing on building four major groups of modern architecture, urban rail transit, modern equipment manufacturing and modern service. There are 7 departments and 4 departments, including the Department of Urban Construction, Department of Engineering Economics, Department of Finance and Accounting, Department of Management Engineering, Department of Art Design, Department of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Department of Information Engineering, Department of Ideology and Politics, Department of Basic Education, Department of Technical Secondary School, and Department of Adult Education. At present, 15 pilot projects of 1+X certificate system have been appraised. Among them, BIM is the first batch of pilot projects of 1+X certificate system in the country, and social training and certification work has been launched.
The college aims at cultivating compound high-quality skilled talents who can meet the needs of the intelligent age. It adheres to the school motto of “Diligence is pragmatic, Virtue and Competence”, and strives to improve students' employability and the ability to create a happy life. Actively carry out school-enterprise cooperation and have established stable school-enterprise cooperative relations with nearly a hundred enterprises. Cooperated with Shenzhen Huawei Technology Co., Ltd. to establish the first Huawei Information and Network Technology College (ICT College) in Shanxi Province, and reached a cooperation agreement with JD.com to consolidate the construction of the college’s modern service professional group; and Hangzhou Kaierda Robotics Technology Co., Ltd. Cooperation has accelerated the construction of modern equipment manufacturing professional groups. Close school-enterprise cooperation agreements have been signed with Shandong Poly Property Management Co., Ltd., Shanxi Lantai Group, Anyi Property Group, Luban Software, Hong Kong Xinhe Group and other well-known enterprises, which provide strong support for the improvement of the quality of teachers and students of the college and the employment of students.
In particular, in the past eight years, it has carried out in-depth cooperation with Taiyuan Rail Transit Development Co., Ltd., and jointly opened the first rail transit talent order class in the province; for the first time, the "Taiyuan Rail Transit Staff Training Base" was built in the college and completed jointly with the enterprise Employee training tasks; adhere to the scientific research orientation of "production, study, research and application", deepen the reform of system and mechanism, and strengthen the establishment of research and development platforms with research-oriented undergraduate colleges and enterprises. In cooperation with Tongji University, the "Tongji University Taiyuan BIM R&D Center" was established to jointly build the country's first full life cycle subway BIM construction project for Taiyuan Metro; and the "PHM Technology R&D Application" was established with Taiyuan Rail Transit Company, Beijing Jiaotong University and Northeastern University. Center", the introduction and establishment of "Academician Wen Bangchun Workstation", and strive to build a characteristic demonstration research center to promote the development of urban rail transit in the central and western regions.
At the same time, both schools and enterprises jointly established Taiyuan Rail Transit Smart Construction Technology Co., Ltd., aiming to expand the application value of BIM technology in the urban rail transit industry, construction industry and smart city construction, and drive the integration and application of provincial and municipal BIM technology. So far, the college has continued to explore and innovate in the mixed-ownership school model and talent training model, and has embarked on a sustainable development road of cooperation in running schools, truly achieving mutual benefit and win-win results between schools and enterprises.
At present, the college is in-depth study and implementation of the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, guided by Xi Jinping’s new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics, seize opportunities, deepen reforms, strive to train dignified workers, and make greater contributions to regional economic and social development.
