Shanxi Jinzhong Institute of Technology (formerly the School of Information and Business, North University of China) is a full-time general undergraduate university approved by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China and the People's Government of Shanxi Province. On February 3, 2021, the Ministry of Education officially announced that the School of Information and Business of North University of China was transferred to Shanxi Jinzhong Institute of Technology. In March 2021, the Shanxi Provincial Government agreed to establish Shanxi Jinzhong Institute of Technology as an independent undergraduate level private general Higher education institutions, and at the same time cancel the establishment of the School of Information and Business of North University of China.
The school is located in Jinzhong City, the hometown of Shanxi merchants, the core city of Taiyuan Economic Circle, close to Jinzhong High-speed Railway Station. It covers an area of more than 1,000 acres and has a building area of about 300,000 square meters. The total value of teaching and research equipment is more than 70 million yuan. The library currently has more than 990,000 paper books and more than 130,000 kinds. Books are jointly built with Jinzhong City Library 350,000 copies. There are currently more than 12,000 full-time students.
