Luliang College is located in the urban area of Luliang. Located in the northwestern part of Shanxi Province, Lvliang City is a famous old revolutionary base. The school was founded in 1978 as the Lvliang Junior College of Shanxi Normal University. In 1984, the Lvliang Teachers College was established. In 1989, it merged with the Luliang Technical College under construction to form the Lvliang College. In 2001, the school and Taiyuan Normal University jointly run the school and began to train undergraduate students, which has accumulated valuable experience for the school's upgrade and general undergraduate education.
In March 2010, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, Luliang College was upgraded to an ordinary undergraduate college. The school cooperated with Jiaokou County to build an internship training base with complete systems and advanced facilities, and cooperated with Shanxi Intelligent Big Data Industry Technology Innovation Research Institute and related companies to build Luliang Intelligent Big Data Industry Technology Innovation Research Institute. Signed agreements with Shanxi University and North University of China for joint training of master's degree students. The joint training of master's students with North University of China started enrollment in 2018. There are currently 16 master tutors.
After the promotion, centering on the goal of "building the school into a qualified undergraduate college as soon as possible", the school has continuously improved the conditions for running a school, strengthened its connotation construction, and completed the transition from junior college education to undergraduate education. The school joined the University of Applied Technology Alliance in 2015.
