Xinzhou Teachers College

Xinzhou Normal University is a provincial full-time general undergraduate college located in Xinzhou City, Shanxi Province. The predecessor of the college can be traced back to Xinxian Teachers College, which was founded in 1958. It was renamed Xinzhou Teachers College in 1984. In 1998, it merged with Xinzhou Education College, Xinzhou Workers College, and Shanxi Radio and Television University Xinzhou Branch to form Xinzhou Teachers College. In 2000, approved by the Ministry of Education, Xinzhou Teachers College and Xinzhou Teachers College merged to form Xinzhou Teachers College. The college is the first batch of national-level "experimental areas for innovation in talent training mode" determined by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Finance; it was awarded the honorary title of "National Advanced Unit for "Two Basics" Work" by the State Council.


For more than 60 years, the college has always been adhering to the school motto of “enhancing learning, enlightening wisdom, cultivating morals, and fostering people”, insisting on oriented to basic education, research basic education, serving basic education and regional economic and social development. The college currently has five campuses, with a total area of about 1,574.33 acres and a total school area of 526,753.84 square meters. The college has more advanced teaching facilities such as a comprehensive teacher education training center, a computer campus network platform, a multimedia classroom, a gymnasium, and various professional laboratories, piano rooms, studios, and exercise rooms. As of October 2020, the college has a collection of more than 4.3 million books, including more than 1.68 million paper books, 2.62 million e-books, and 41 electronic resource databases.


The college adheres to the socialist direction of running a school, firmly establishes the position of the talent training center, fully implements the fundamental task of Lide to cultivate people, based on the basic education development status of Xinzhou and other economically underdeveloped areas, continues to deepen the education and teaching reform, and insists on the poverty alleviation internship support education work.
