Liaodong College is located on the banks of the Yellow Sea and the Yalu River. It is located in Dandong, Liaoning Province, the largest and most beautiful border city in China known as the "Hero City" and "Northern Jiangnan". Provincial general undergraduate colleges and universities with location characteristics are the first batch of transitional development pilot colleges and universities in the province and the China University of Applied Technology Alliance colleges. Nearly 160,000 application-oriented talents have been transported in fields such as exchanges.
The school started in 1912 in the private Anton Sanyu National High School (Horticulture School). Higher education began in 1948. The Anton Provincial Agricultural College. There are successively alchemy schools, silk schools, financial schools, health schools, workers' colleges and teachers. The colleges and universities of different historical periods, such as the college, Dan University, University Medical Branch, Finance College, Textile College, Dandong College, and Vocational College, were adjusted and merged, and Liaodong College was formed in April 2003.
The school is divided into two main campuses, Linjiang and Jinshan. The campus covers a total area of 821,400 square meters, a total construction area of 406,300 square meters, a total fixed assets value of 780 million yuan, nearly 1.1138 million paper books, and electronic books. 584,000 copies. It offers English-taught bachelor's degree courses in computer science and technology, textile engineering, international trade and undergraduate courses in Chinese for international students from Asia, Africa and other countries. Conduct academic exchanges and cooperative education projects with nearly 40 universities in South Korea and Japan. In 2019, it cooperated with North Korea’s Pyongyang University of Foreign Studies to build North Korea’s first Chinese language center, fully demonstrating the school’s geographic characteristics.
