Jinzhou Medical University

Jinzhou Medical University was born during the War of Liberation. The predecessor of the school was the Liaoji Military Region Health School established in Taonan City, Jilin Province in 1946. In 1949, it moved to Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province. In 1958, Jinzhou Medical College was established. In 2006, it was renamed Liaoning Medical College. In 2007, he passed the evaluation of the undergraduate teaching level of the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China with excellent results. In March 2016, approved by the Ministry of Education, it was officially renamed Jinzhou Medical University. After more than 70 years of development, it has become a provincial general higher education institution with a focus on medicine, multiple disciplines, multiple levels, and multiple forms of schooling.


   The campus covers an area of 994,987.60 square meters. There are four forms of school running: general higher education, adult education, higher vocational and technical education, and international student education; there are three levels of schooling for graduate students, undergraduates, and junior college students; there are medicine, science, engineering, agriculture, management, education, and economics. 7 disciplines; 22 undergraduate majors. The school became a master's degree-granting unit in 1984. In 1999, it obtained the qualification to apply for a master's degree-granting right for people with equivalent academic ability. In 2003, it was approved by the Ministry of Education to start joint training of doctoral students with China Medical University. There are 8 first-level discipline master degree authorization points, 59 second-level discipline master degree authorization points, and 5 master degree authorization points.


   There are 3612 faculty and medical staff in the school. The school has 2 specially-appointed professors of the "Changjiang Scholars Award Program", 1 winner of the National Teaching Teacher Award, 2 members of the Teaching Steering Committee of Higher Education Ministry of Education, 1 national candidate for the New Century Talent Project, and successively won the State Council Government There are 27 special allowances, 2 outstanding experts in Liaoning Province, 5 winners of the "Liaoning Province Higher Education Climbing Scholar Support Program", 9 Liaoning Distinguished Professors, 6 Liaoning Province Teaching Teacher Award winners, and Liaoning Province’s young and middle-aged subject leader 2 There are 40 candidates for the "Hundreds, Thousands of Talents Project" in Liaoning Province, and 26 outstanding young backbone teachers in Liaoning Province.


  The school has always adhered to the central position of teaching work, based on morality, and constantly deepened teaching reform, strengthened teaching management, improved the quality of talent training, and achieved fruitful teaching results. The school currently has 1 national-level characteristic major, 1 national-level comprehensive reform pilot major, 3 provincial-level comprehensive reform pilot majors, 1 provincial-level engineering talent training model reform pilot major, and 1 provincial-level innovation and entrepreneurship education reform pilot major , 8 provincial-level exemplary majors; 14 provincial-level quality courses, 7 provincial-level quality resource sharing and video open courses; 6 provincial-level teaching teams; 8 provincial-level experimental teaching demonstration centers, provincial-level virtual simulation experiment teaching There are 5 demonstration centers, 2 provincial-level virtual simulation experiment teaching projects, and 9 provincial-level practical education bases for college students.


Following the development trend of international medical education, the school took the lead in launching the "organ system-centered" medical curriculum model reform in China in 1991, breaking the "discipline-centered" traditional curriculum model, and providing a foundation for the reform of my country's higher medical education. The successful example created the coexistence of multiple curriculum models in higher medical education in my country. It was highly valued by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Health, and was approved by the Ministry of Education as a "Project for Reforming the Teaching Contents and Curriculum Models of Higher Medical Education in the 21st Century". This reform won two second prizes for national teaching achievement and two first prizes for teaching achievement in Liaoning Province.


The school’s scientific research work started early. In 1978, the “Research on the etiology and prevention of rice field dermatitis” undertaken by the school won a major contribution award at the National Science Conference; Breakthroughs have been made in etiology and pathology research, and the Ministry of Health has obtained Grade B scientific and technological achievements, and has made important contributions to the prevention and treatment of endemic diseases in China. The school has become a national research center for "endemic disease" and "endemic disease"; 1988 In 1988, the school’s “Research on Magnetic Resin Root Canal Filling Materials and Technology” won the third prize of the National Science and Technology Invention Award, filling the gap in the country. There are 2 major science and technology platforms in Liaoning Province colleges and universities, 15 key laboratories in Liaoning Province, 1 provincial engineering research center, 2 provincial engineering technology research centers, and 2 Liaoning clinical medicine research centers. There are 4 key disciplines in Liaoning Province, among which basic medicine is a first-class discipline construction project of Liaoning Province colleges and universities, basic medicine and otorhinolaryngology are first-class characteristic disciplines of Liaoning Province, and surgery (extra-osseous) and pharmacology are key disciplines of Liaoning Province. The school sponsored three publications: "Journal of Jinzhou Medical University", "Natural Science Edition" and "Social Science Edition", and "Chinese Physician Ability Evaluation".


   There are 12,912 full-time students in the school, including 7,498 undergraduates. It is now recruiting students from 30 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities across the country. In 2018, the admission scores of our school reached a new high. Among them, the highest score for science and engineering medicine-related majors in our province was 595 points, and the source of students ranked among the top 30% of our province. The school began to recruit international students in 1997. In 2012, it was approved by the Ministry of Education as a "Qualified College for Studying in China for Clinical Medicine in English". In 2014, it was officially listed as a "Chinese Government Scholarship for International Students in China" by the Ministry of Education. In 2015, it was approved by the Ministry of Education as a "Qualification College for Recruiting Students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Regions", and the scale of students studying in China ranked third in Liaoning Province for three consecutive years.


   The school currently has 128 teaching and practice bases for various majors, including 3 directly affiliated hospitals and 7 non-directly affiliated hospitals. The First Affiliated Hospital is the largest tertiary A general hospital in western Liaoning, one of the three major regional medical centers in Liaoning Province, a national standardized training base for resident physicians, and a national coronary intervention training base; the second affiliated hospital is a national resident physician Standardized training base (general dentistry), the clinical practice base of dental professional nurse training of the Chinese Stomatological Association, the clinical skills training center of stomatology in Liaoning province, the popular science base of oral health education in Liaoning province, the diagnosis and treatment center of oral diseases in western Liaoning; the third affiliated hospital is Tertiary Class A hospitals, Liaoning Provincial Workers' Work Injury Rehabilitation Center, Liaoning Province Diabetes Prevention and Treatment Liaoxi Sub-center, Liaoning Province Diabetic Eye Disease Prevention and Treatment Liaoxi Sub-center. The three directly affiliated hospitals have made positive contributions to the rapid and coordinated development of regional medical and health services.
