Shenyang Normal University

Shenyang Normal University is affiliated to the People's Government of Liaoning Province. It was founded in 1951 and formerly known as the Northeast Institute of Education. In 1953, it was renamed Shenyang Normal University. It was one of the first two undergraduate normal colleges established in Northeast China at that time. The school was renamed Liaoning First Normal University in 1965, and the name of Shenyang Normal University was restored in 1978. In 2002, the provincial government decided and approved by the Ministry of Education to merge Shenyang Normal University and Liaoning Institute of Education to form Shenyang Normal University.


  


   The school fully implements the party's education guidelines and policies, and always adheres to the direction of socialist school. Since the beginning of the 21st century, the school has reviewed the current situation, updated its school-running concepts and ideas, adhered to the combination of the laws of higher education development and the laws of market economy, and successfully constructed new campuses by applying the principle of differential rent.    The school covers an area of 1,228,282.7 square meters, with a building area of 942,220.78 square meters. The school has a total of 19,293 full-time undergraduates, 2,917 postgraduates, and 1,029 long-term and short-term international students. Now it has trained a large number of teachers and all kinds of talents with both ability and political integrity for the country, and has made important contributions to the education of Northeast China, especially Liaoning.


   The Liaoning Basic Education Teaching and Research Training Center, the Liaoning Education Administration Institute, and the Liaoning Audio-visual Education Center are located in Shenyang Normal University. The school currently has 26 secondary colleges and 23 school-owned libraries, ministries, centers, research institutes and affiliated institutions. It has two of the few Confucius Institutes in the Middle East in my country-the Confucius Institute at St Joseph University in Beirut, Lebanon and the TAG Confucius Institute in Amman, Jordan.
