Liaoning Petrochemical Vocational and Technical College was approved by the Liaoning Provincial Government in 2002 (Liaozheng [2002] No. 12) to implement a cooperative school system between the Liaoning Provincial Department of Education and PetroChina Jinzhou Petrochemical Company. The petrochemical production technology major is a national-level professional teaching reform pilot major, and the petrochemical production technology, industrial analysis and inspection, and production process automation technology majors are the provincial demonstration majors. In the past four years, teachers of the college have participated in editing more than 120 textbooks and published more than 260 papers above the provincial level.
The college has built a practical teaching system consisting of virtual professional environment and real professional environment training, and regards the production workshops of companies such as PetroChina Jinzhou Petrochemical Company as the real professional environment. The college invested 7.5 million yuan to build a training base in the West District. It has secured a special investment of nearly 9 million yuan from the central and provincial finances. It has built a numerical control processing base, an electrical and electronic automation training base, and 5 vocational skill appraisal stations (stations).
