Jinzhou Teachers College (hereinafter referred to as Jinzhou Teachers College) is located in Jinzhou, a central city in western Liaoning with developed transportation on the coast of the Bohai Sea. It is a full-time public general college approved by the State Council and registered by the Ministry of Education.
The predecessor of Jinzhou Teachers College was the Fengtian Provincial Fourth Normal School established in 1914. This year it has a history of 107 years. Teachers’ major is our school’s traditional superior major. In the long-term school-running practice, the teacher’s major has formed a fine tradition and continued to innovate. A complete and mature training model and system have been formed in terms of curriculum settings and ability training. The completed "Curriculum Plan for Elementary Education Majors in Normal Colleges (General Teachers)" was adopted by the Provincial Department of Education and promoted across the province. For more than 100 years, it has trained a large number of excellent basic education teachers for western Liaoning, Liaoning and the whole country, and is a well-known brand of basic education teachers in Liaoning Province.
In 1998, the school began to organize higher vocational education majors. At that time, it was the first and only normal college that piloted higher vocational education in the province. Higher vocational and technical education always adheres to the purpose of serving local economic construction, employment-oriented professional construction, professional technical positions as the basis, ability training as the basis to reform the talent training model, implementation of industry-university cooperation, work-study integration, and order training. Highlighting the characteristics of running a school, the reform of the talent training model carried out won the 2009 and 2014 Provincial Excellent Teaching Achievement Awards. For more than 20 years, it has cultivated a large number of senior skilled talents for Liaoning's economic construction.
The school covers an area of 285 mu, with a building area of 140,000 square meters; the total value of fixed assets is 110 million yuan. The school has standardized student apartments, canteens, track and field stadiums and gymnasiums. The library has a building area of 4,627 square meters and a collection of more than 510,000 books. Gigabit Ethernet covers the entire work area and teaching area, realizing a campus network of 100M switching to the desktop.
The school has 563 faculty members, including 413 full-time teachers. Among the full-time teachers, there are 35 professors, 119 associate professors, 3 provincial teaching teachers, 3 provincial outstanding teachers, 2 provincial-level professional leaders, and provincial-level outstanding teachers. There are 2 teaching teams, 6 provincial outstanding young backbone teachers, and 7 city academic and technical leaders. Twelve people have won the Zeng Xianzi Award, and more than 100 teachers have won awards at or above the city level. The school’s scientific research projects, scientific research results, teaching results, and quality courses are among the best in the province's technical schools. In the past three years, it has undertaken a total of 198 scientific research projects, published 81 academic books and textbooks, and published 388 academic papers. Five courses have been rated as provincial quality courses.
The school now has 38 full-time teacher education and higher vocational and technical education, including 1 provincial high-level characteristic professional group, 2 provincial brand majors, 2 provincial education reform pilot majors, and 8,719 students. The school insists on "survive by quality, promote development by reform, increase efficiency by management, and create brand with characteristics", insist on the central position of education and teaching in school work, focus on the development of connotation, and devote itself to the level of education and teaching and the quality of talent training. The improvement of the university enjoys a high reputation among similar institutions.
