The predecessor of Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts was the Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts, established in Yan'an in 1938, and was initiated by the older generation of leaders such as Mao Zedong and Zhou Enlai. Comrade Mao Zedong wrote the name of the college and the school motto of "Tense, Serious, Hardworking, and Modest" for the college. In 1945, Yan'an Luyi moved to the northeast. In 1958, it developed into Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts. In 1998, Comrade Jiang Zemin wrote an inscription for the college: "Promote Lu Yi tradition, cultivate artistic talents, and prosper socialist cultural undertakings." The long history of running a school accumulates the profound cultural connotation and leading strength of the college.
After 78 years of development, Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts has grown into a well-known higher art institution with strong faculty, complete specialties, the forefront of the level and overall strength of similar institutions in the country, distinctive school-running characteristics, and important influence at home and abroad.
The college has two campuses in Shenyang and Dalian. The Shenyang campus is located in the political, economic and cultural center of Northeast China, and is located in the famous high-tech industry street-Sanhao Street; the Dalian campus is located in the beautiful national scenic tourist resort of Dalian's Jinshitan. The campus covers a total area of 957,662.94 square meters, and the library building area is 10,887 square meters. There are now 592,073 books in the collection, and more than 3,000 pieces of authentic domestic paintings and calligraphy, rubbings, rubbings, and cultural relics. There are currently 7 teaching units on the Dalian campus: Visual Communication Design College, Media Animation College, Arts and Crafts Teaching Department, Digital Media Art Teaching Department, Professional Basic Teaching Department, Public Basic Teaching Department and Lumei Culture International Fashion College (co-organized by China and Japan ); There are 5 majors: visual communication design, animation, arts and crafts, digital media art, clothing and clothing design (clothing design, clothing plate making).
All majors in the college have the right to grant master degrees. The college has 3 first-level disciplines: Fine Arts, Design, Art Theory, and 14 undergraduate majors. The journal "Meiyuan" (bimonthly), founded in 1980, enjoys a high reputation at home and abroad. "Meiyuan" has successively won the National Excellent Social Science Journal, the Chinese Art Core Journal, the Chinese Journal Phalanx Double-effect Journal, and the Liaoning Province It has been rated as a national Chinese core journal for three consecutive times, and was included in the CSSCI China Social Science Citation Index (2014-2015) Source Journal Extended Edition in 2014. In 2016, "Meiyuan" magazine will resume the title of "Art Work".
