Liaoning Provincial Transportation College is located in Shenyang, a famous historical and cultural city. The school's predecessor was the Northeast Transportation School established in 1951. It was the first specialized school set up for the construction of New China's transportation.

The main professions cover road construction and management, automotive aftermarket, road transportation and logistics, rail transit and other transportation industries and local pillar industries such as construction machinery, mechanical and electrical equipment manufacturing, and information technology.
