Location: Located in Shenyang, the capital city of Liaoning Province in northeastern China, the college covers a total area of 1.12 million square meters. The main campus is located on the south bank of the Hun River across the urban area, covering an area of approximately 621,000 square meters; in the mountainous area in the southeast of the city. The Baiqingzhai campus (snow sports center) is built, covering an area of about 505,000 square meters.

College History
1954 Northeast Institute of Physical Education was established, organized by the Sports Committee of the Central People’s Government and the Northeast People’s Government; the school site was determined to be in the area around the former Northeastern University Stadium in Beiling, Shenyang.
In 1955, the Athletic Guidance Division (formerly Northeast Sports Training Class) was established as a college.
In 1956, it was renamed Shenyang Institute of Physical Education.
In 1958, it was transferred to the leadership of the Liaoning Provincial Government and was in charge of the Liaoning Provincial Sports Committee.
In 1960, the Department of Physical Education and the Department of Sports were established; soon the Department of Sports was established as a college, but the name of the Department of Sports (or the branch of Shenyang Sports College) was retained until 1984, becoming the predecessor of the Liaoning Sports Technical College.
1963 Directly managed by the Higher Education Bureau of Liaoning Province, under the professional guidance of the Provincial Sports Commission. In the same year, the provincial secondary school of physical education in Shenyang was merged.
The Cultural Revolution began in 1966, and enrollment was suspended until 1971.
Moved to Qingduizi Farm in Beizhen County, Liaoning Province in 1969, and moved back to the original site in Shenyang successively the following year.
In January 1980, it was affiliated to the National Sports Committee; an affiliated sports school was established.
In March 2001, the State Sports General Administration and the Liaoning Provincial People's Government jointly established a management system based on the Provincial People's Government; the provincial Sports Bureau and the Education Department were co-managed, and the Provincial Sports Bureau was the main management system.
September 2004 The Baiqingzhai Campus (Snow Sports Center) of the college was fully completed and put into use.
December 2006 The college moved to a new campus.
In April 2014, the provincial government decided to coordinate the local management of the school with the Department of Education as the mainstay and the Sports Bureau as the supplement.
