Xinglin College of Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine was founded in July 2001 by Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is a provincial full-time general undergraduate college (independent college) focusing on training applied talents in Chinese medicine. Under the leadership of the Party Committee of Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Xinglin College strictly implements the party’s educational policy, adheres to the school-running philosophy of “not the greatest, but the strongest”, inherits and promotes the excellent school spirit of “diligence and pragmatism”, and adheres to the “two excellence, two excellence” philosophy. Xinglin College is currently the vice-chairman unit of the "Cooperative Association of Independent Colleges of China" and the chairman unit of the Medical School Committee of the Coordination Association of Independent Colleges of China. The school has successively won honorary titles such as "Shenyang May Fourth Red Flag Youth League Committee", "Advanced Party Branch", "National Advanced Independent College" and other honorary titles. In 2012, it was awarded the May 1st Medal (individual) of Liaoning Province as the representative of Liaoning Independent College. In 2016, it hosted China The 2016 Annual Meeting of the Independent College Collaboration Association and the 11th National Summit of Independent Colleges. In October 2017, it hosted the Sino-French cultural exchange activities with the University of Lyon, France. In December 2014 and October 2018, it hosted the annual meeting of the Medical School Committee of the Chinese Independent College Collaboration Association, and was successfully elected as the "Chinese Independent College Collaboration Association Medical School" "School Committee" president unit enjoys a good reputation among independent colleges in China.
Xinglin College relies on the disciplinary foundation of Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, scientifically sets up majors and directions in accordance with the development of modern Chinese medicine technology and the needs of social and economic development, and recruits students from all over the country. The college currently has five departments: Chinese Medicine, Integrated Medicine, Acupuncture and Tuina, Nursing, and Pharmacy, and two departments including the Department of Ideological and Political Education, and the Department of Public Teaching. Nursing, Chinese pharmacy, pharmaceutical engineering, Chinese medicine resources and development, pharmaceutical management, health service and management, health inspection and quarantine, medical imaging technology, dental medicine technology and other majors. It has formed a school-running pattern with a coordinated development of characteristic education in traditional Chinese medicine, with clinical majors as the main body, integrated Chinese and Western medicine, nursing, pharmacy, general health and medical management cross-penetrating, and coordinated development.
Relying on the strong faculty and abundant educational resources of Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Xinglin College has adopted a new mechanism to form a high-quality full-time and part-time faculty. Among them, more than 90% of the teachers have doctoral and master's degrees, and have titles of full-time and associate professors. The number of teachers has reached 60%, ensuring the quality of education and teaching and talent training.
Xinglin College continues to innovate talent training models, vigorously carry out various teaching reforms, create "golden courses", and steadily improve the quality of talent training. The Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine in our hospital was approved as a first-class major in Liaoning Province, "Introduction to Mao Zedong Thought and the Theoretical System of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics", "Selected Readings in Neijing", "Treatise on Febrile Diseases", "Pharmacology", "Medicinal Botany", "Pathology" 7 courses including "Medical Cell Biology" have been approved as first-class courses in Liaoning Province. In recent years, the college has won 5 Liaoning Provincial Teaching Achievement Awards, 20 provincial-level teaching software competition awards, presided over 12 Liaoning Provincial Education Reform Projects, and 3 professors have won the honorary title of Liaoning Provincial Teaching Teachers. Moral education, the educational philosophy of first becoming adults and then becoming talents, has been prominent in various national, provincial and municipal activities.
Xinglin College attaches great importance to the cultivation of student quality, and students have outstanding performance in various activities at the national, provincial and municipal levels. In the past three years, the average admission rate of medical graduates has increased year by year, and for three consecutive years, it has been among the best in the individual scores of the graduate examination of the University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Liaoning Province; in 2021, the medical graduates of our school will reach a new high in the postgraduate examination and pass the national postgraduate examination. The rate is nearly 30%. Among them, Sun Xiao and Chen Yueyue, students majoring in Chinese medicine of 2016, ranked first in the preliminary examinations of Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine with a high score of 414. They were successfully admitted to two universities and graduated in large numbers. Students enter provincial and municipal hospitals through postgraduate education. In recent years, more than 520 people have won the first, second and third prizes of the "Challenge Cup" extracurricular academic science and technology competition, entrepreneurship competition and Liaoning Province "Creating Youth" competition for college students in Liaoning Province; 1,000 people have won outstanding graduates of Liaoning Province, national scholarships, and provincial government Scholarships, national inspirational scholarships and other awards.

The participating teams stood out and won the third place in the national finals of the "Yellow Emperor's Internal Classic" contest organized by the Ministry of Education, and were recognized and praised by the Ministry of Education, the Education Commission, and the national TCM medical colleges and colleagues. In the "Study Typhoid Fever and Back Typhoid Fever" competition in the same year, the Xinglin team made another great achievement and won the fourth place in the country.
In the past three years, the graduation rate of our college graduates has reached 100%, and the degree acquisition rate has reached more than 99%. A large number of graduates have been admitted by universities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu, etc., with 63 employment practice bases (hospitals) in 22 cities across the country, and continue to expand training programs in the general health industry. In recent years, the employment rate of graduates has remained stable and shows more Channel employment. In 2014, our hospital signed a friendly cooperation agreement with the Japanese NPO International Medical Welfare Talent Training Organization to jointly promote the international development of nursing. In 2016, our hospital's industry-university cooperation collaborative education project was approved by the Ministry of Education for implementation. In 2020, it will establish a breast and thyroid specialist alliance with 22 primary hospitals across the country to bring industry-university cooperation to a new level. In 2017, our national college student innovation and entrepreneurship training base was unveiled and officially put into use. In 2019, our hospital will comprehensively carry out the international medical welfare talent training plan, and exchange talents with Germany, Italy, Japan and other countries. In response to the rapid development of public health and the background of the era of big data, a medical big data college will be established to cultivate comprehensive application-oriented talents who are suitable for future medical development in an all-round way.
