The full name of the school is Jilin Industrial Vocational and Technical College. It was established in Changchun with the approval of the People's Government of Jilin Province in October 1950. It was called Jilin Provincial Industrial Technical School at the time. General colleges and universities in Jilin Province; the college is currently the first batch of key construction model higher vocational colleges and the third batch of national model higher vocational colleges in Jilin Province.
1. School history
Since its establishment in 1950, the school was renamed Jilin Province Jilin Chemical Industry School in 1953, and moved to the then provincial capital Jilin City in January 1954. In August 1956, due to major adjustments, it was renamed Jilin Province Jilin Food Industry School. In August 1958, in order to meet the needs of the national economy for chemical talents, it was renamed Jilin Chemical Industry School of Jilin Province. In May 1959, in order to meet the demand for high-skilled talents in Jilin Province, a junior college was added and its name was changed to Jilin Chemical Industry College. In July 1963, due to personnel and professional adjustments, it was renamed Jilin Province Chemical Industry School. In February 1973, the school was renamed Jilin Province Petrochemical School to meet the needs of the development and construction of Jilin Oilfield. In August 1978, our school was listed as a national key chemical school by the Ministry of Chemical Industry and changed its name to Jilin Chemical School. Prior to this, the superior unit in charge of the school has been Jilin Petrochemical Bureau. In January 2002, the People's Government of Jilin Province officially approved our school to be upgraded to a general higher education school, and determined that the current school is called Jilin Industrial Vocational and Technical College, which is subordinate to the Department of Education of Jilin Province.
2. Geographical location
The school has two campuses, the main campus is located at No. 15 Hengshan West Road, Fengman District, Jilin City, and the east campus is located at No. 70 Yishan Road, Fengman District, Jilin City. The school occupies an area of 141 acres, with a building of 104,000 square meters, and has 2 long-term leased sites, covering an area of 8 acres with a building of 6,800 square meters. The new campus is planned to cover an area of 443,600 square meters (665 acres), with a planned construction area of 228,000 square meters.
3. Teaching institutions
The teaching unit of the school is set up as six colleges, three departments and one center: School of Chemical Engineering and Materials Technology, School of Mechanical and Automotive Technology, School of Mechatronics and Intelligent Technology, School of Electrical and Information Technology, School of Pharmaceutical and Environmental Technology, School of Economics, Management and Art, and Department of Ideological and Political Education , Basic Teaching Department, Physical Education Department, Chemical Production Technology Training Center. There are 44 majors in equipment manufacturing, biology and chemical engineering, including 4 national demonstration majors, 2 provincial demonstration majors, 7 provincial characteristic majors, and 3 provincial brand majors. There are 2 national quality courses. , 13 provincial excellent courses, 23 provincial excellent courses, and 2 excellent courses by the Higher Vocational Education Commission of the Ministry of Education.
Four, basic conditions
The school attaches great importance to the investment in hardware facilities. As of the end of July 2017, the total value of teaching and research equipment is 200 million yuan.
The school currently has 319 faculty members, 276 full-time teachers, 26 professors, 112 associate senior professional and technical personnel, 212 master and doctoral degree teachers, 86.7% of teachers with double teacher qualifications, and 24 long-term “skilled craftsmen” employees. There are 2 famous teachers in Changbai Mountain, 7 outstanding teaching teams in the province, 6 famous teachers in the industry, and 13 members of the National Chemical Higher Vocational Education Committee.
5. Social reputation
In 2007, the school won the excellent evaluation of the talent training work of higher vocational colleges of the Ministry of Education, and became the first batch of key construction model higher vocational colleges in Jilin Province. In July 2008, it was approved by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Finance as the third batch of national Demonstrative higher vocational college project establishment unit, in September 2011, successfully passed the national-level acceptance. In 2012, the school was rated as an advanced unit of spiritual civilization construction in Jilin Province and an advanced unit of cultural construction in China's petroleum and chemical industry in 2010-2012. In 2013, the school won two third prizes for outstanding achievements in the construction of campus culture in colleges and universities across the province. In 2014, it was rated as an advanced unit of vocational education in Jilin Province. In 2015, it was again rated as "Advanced Unit for Cultural Construction of China's Petroleum and Chemical Industry", and was rated as "Civilized Unit of the Province". In 2017, the school won the Excellent School Award of the First Huang Yanpei Vocational Education Award of Jilin Province.
