Liaoyuan Vocational and Technical College is an ordinary college of higher learning with the approval of the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China and sponsored by the People's Government of Liaoyuan City in July 1999. In 2004, the college was identified by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Construction as one of the 71 schools in the country for the training of skilled talents in the construction industry. The college has three campuses: the main campus, the medical branch and the adult campus. There are 54 majors in seven departments and four departments.
