Changchun University is located in Changchun City, Jilin Province. It is a provincial full-time comprehensive university. There are three campuses with a total area of 1.03 million square meters. The predecessor of the school was the Changchun Industrial Accounting and Statistics Special School founded by the former Ministry of Industry of the Northeast People's Government in 1949. After being renamed many times and approved by the former National Education Commission in 1987, the former Jilin University of Science and Technology, Jilin Mechanical and Electrical College, Changchun Foreign Language College, and Changchun Vocational University merged to form Changchun University. In August 2000, the former Jilin Province Forestry School was merged into Changchun University.
