Jiangxi Water Conservancy Vocational College is a public full-time general college approved by the People's Government of Jiangxi Province and filed by the Ministry of Education. The college was founded in 1956 (formerly known as Jiangxi Institute of Water Conservancy and Electric Power). It is the only water conservancy and hydropower higher vocational college in Jiangxi, under the jurisdiction of the Jiangxi Provincial Department of Water Resources.

The college is located in Nanchang, the city of heroes with "rich things in nature and outstanding people". Covering an area of 708 acres, the campus has a beautiful environment and a strong academic atmosphere. It is adjacent to famous universities in the province such as Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics, East China Jiaotong University, and Jiangxi University of Science and Technology.
