The predecessor of Jiangxi College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (hereinafter referred to as the school) was the Fuzhou Health School of Jiangxi Province established in 1958. In 1986, it was reorganized as Jiangxi Fuzhou School of Traditional Chinese Medicine; in 1998, it was renamed Jiangxi Provincial School of Traditional Chinese Medicine; in May 2004, it was upgraded to Jiangxi College of Traditional Chinese Medicine with the approval of the Ministry of Education. The school is one of the earliest colleges of traditional Chinese medicine established in the country, a new type of characteristic colleges and universities built by the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the only traditional Chinese medicine college in Jiangxi Province.
The school is a full-time general higher education school, jointly organized by the People's Government of Jiangxi Province and the People's Government of Fuzhou City, and is in charge of the People's Government of Fuzhou City. The school's education form is mainly full-time college education, taking into account high and secondary vocational education and continuing education, and training high-quality technical and technical talents that meet the frontline needs of the Chinese medicine industry and the rehabilitation and health care market for production, construction, management, and service.
The school was approved as the National TCM Practicing Physician Examination Base, the National TCM School (Miaojiang Medicine) Construction Base, and the Jiangxi Province TCM Culture Dissemination Base. The school currently has 485 faculty members. The total number of full-time and part-time teachers is 315, of which 24 are senior professional titles, 51 are deputy senior professional titles, and 86 are dual-qualified teachers.
