Xinyu College is located in Xinyu City, a new industrial city in Jiangxi Province. Xinyu is a national forest city, a national garden city, and a national model city for greening. In 1930, Comrade Mao Zedong left his glorious work "Xingguo Investigation" in Xinyu Luofang.
Xinyu College is the only public general undergraduate college in Xinyu City. The campus covers an area of 133 hectares (according to the authority issued by the Ministry of Education, the school ranks 363th among more than 2900 universities in the country in terms of area and 285th in green area), a building area of 450,000 square meters, and a total value of teaching and research equipment of 1.3 100 million yuan; there are 172 on-campus experiment (training) rooms, 163 off-campus internship training bases; the library has 1.63 million books and 1.37 million e-books. The school now has 13 secondary colleges and 38 undergraduate majors covering eight disciplines including engineering, literature, science, medicine, education, management, art, and economics. In recent years, the school has established 18 national-level teaching reform pilot majors and provincial-level outstanding engineer training program pilot majors. Computer science and technology, new energy science and engineering and other majors have been established as provincial-level first-class majors. The school has presided over the completion of 170 national educational science planning projects and provincial-level teaching reform projects, 3 provincial-level virtual simulation experimental teaching projects, 9 provincial-level teaching achievement awards, 6 provincial-level undergraduate courses, provincial-level quality courses, There are 20 high-quality resource sharing courses and provincial-level high-quality online open courses, and more than 200 textbooks and monographs have been compiled and published. The school has 838 faculty members, including 619 full-time teachers. 103 external teachers, mainly industry experts, have been hired. The school has 67 teachers with senior professional titles, 139 teachers with deputy senior professional titles, 271 teachers with "dual qualifications" and 563 teachers with master's or doctoral degrees. The school currently has 12,000 full-time students. Students participated in various competitions at or above the provincial level and won a total of 2,193 awards, including 15 international and 204 national. The university has established a total of 507 projects for the innovation and entrepreneurship training program for college students, including 343 at the national level.
