Shangrao Teachers College

The predecessor of Shangrao Teachers College was Shangrao Teachers College established in 1958. It was renamed Northeastern Gansu University in 1959 and ceased operation during the Cultural Revolution. The school resumed in 1977 and was upgraded to Shangrao Normal College in March 2000 with the approval of the Ministry of Education and the People's Government of Jiangxi Province. In November 2005, it passed the evaluation of the undergraduate teaching level of the Ministry of Education.


   Currently, the campus covers an area of 1116 acres, with a planned area of 1,500 acres, a total building area of 387,000 square meters, and 14,617 full-time students (13,645 undergraduates and 972 junior colleges). The school currently has 976 faculty members, including 751 teachers. Among the teaching teachers, 54 are professors, 206 are associate professors, and 112 are teachers with doctoral degrees. Among the faculty, there are 3 experts enjoying special government allowances from the State Council, 1 candidate for the “Ganpo Talent 555 Project” leading talent training plan, 2 experts with special allowances from the provincial government; 1 national outstanding teacher, 5 famous university teachers in the province, There are 8 young and middle-aged academic leaders in provincial universities, 29 young and middle-aged backbone teachers in provincial universities, 16 provincial candidates for the "New Century Talent Project", 2 part-time doctoral supervisors, and 32 part-time master supervisors. The school has two national characteristic majors: chemistry, mathematics and applied mathematics. The preschool education major is a pilot major for comprehensive reform of the Ministry of Education; the school also has 43 provincial undergraduate teaching engineering (quality engineering) projects. As of December 2017, the collection has 1.47 million paper books and the total value of teaching equipment is more than 151.64 million yuan. There are 15 secondary colleges, modern educational technology and experiment center, computer network center, library, journal editorial department and other teaching and teaching auxiliary institutions, as well as the Zhu Zixue Institute, the Philosophy Institute, the Linguistics Institute, and the Fang Zhimin Research Center , Institute of Mathematics and Applied Mathematics, Institute of Organic Chemistry, Institute of Agricultural Sciences, Institute of Northeast Jiangxi Economic and Social Development, Institute of Calligraphy Education, Institute of Educational Economics, Institute of American Culture, and Southern Institute of Camellia Research. There are 5 provincial key disciplines, 1 "2011 Collaborative Innovation Center" in Jiangxi Province, 1 Key Research Base of Philosophy and Social Science in Jiangxi Province, 1 Key Laboratory of Jiangxi Province University, 1 Science and Technology Innovation Team of Jiangxi Province University, Jiangxi 1 Provincial University Humanities and Social Science Key Research Base, 1 Jiangxi Provincial Key Research Base of Culture and Art Science, 1 Jiangxi Targeted Drug Engineering Technology Research Center, 1 Jiangxi Provincial Key Laboratory of Applied Organic Chemistry, Jiangxi University Experiment Teaching Demonstration Center, the school established the Jiangxi Province Electric Vehicle Components Intelligent Engineering Technology Research Center, the Fang Zhimin Spirit and the Northeast Jiangxi Economic and Social Development Research Center, and the Jiangxi Province Stem Cell Product Engineering Technology Research Center and the Jiangxi Province Tourism Big Data Project were jointly established Research center, the school also cooperated with Nanjing University to establish the Jiangxi branch of Nanjing University Research Center for the History of the Republic of China.


   The school's teaching and research facilities are relatively complete, with advanced teaching and experimental facilities such as a digital campus network, various professional laboratories, language rooms, multimedia classrooms, gymnasiums, and standard plastic track and field fields. In the past 5 years, the faculty of the college has undertaken a total of 369 national and provincial (ministerial) scientific research projects, published 50 monographs, published 1,727 academic papers in journals above the provincial level, and 19 scientific research achievements have been awarded at the department level or above.


In recent years, the school has further clarified the guiding ideology of running a school, improved the conditions for running a school, strengthened internal management, and promoted various reforms; insisted on teaching work as the center and continuously improved the quality of education and teaching; followed the law of education and correctly handled the scale, quality, and development under the new situation. The relationship with investment, teaching and scientific research, reform and construction; with discipline construction as the leader, accelerate school construction, and strive to build the school into a multi-disciplinary, local, teaching-oriented university with certain influence inside and outside the province. At present, the school is focusing on this development goal, paying close attention to the construction of disciplines, focusing on the development of connotation, improving the quality of running a school, improving the efficiency of running a school, actively seeking support from all parties, and creating conditions to move forward.
