The predecessor of the school was the China Ceramics Academy founded in 1910; the Jiangxi Provincial Ceramics Academy was established in 1947 and became one of the five junior colleges in Jiangxi Province at that time; in 1958, the Jingdezhen Ceramics Institute, which established a general undergraduate system, was originally a light industry.
