Nanchang Institute of Technology is a private general undergraduate university approved by the Ministry of Education, invested and organized by Nanchang Aerospace Science and Technology Group, and managed by the People's Government of Jiangxi Province. In May 1999, when the school was founded, the school was named Jiangxi Aerospace Science and Technology Vocational College; in April 2001, it was approved as Jiangxi Aerospace Science and Technology Vocational College by the People's Government of Jiangxi Province; in May 2005, the Ministry of Education approved as an undergraduate college and named Nanchang College of Science and Technology; In April 2009, it was approved as a bachelor degree-granting unit by the Degree Committee of the People’s Government of Jiangxi Province; In 2012, the school successfully passed the undergraduate teaching qualification assessment of the Ministry of Education; In July 2015, the school signed a joint training agreement with East China Jiaotong University.
