  Historical Evolution   Jiangxi Science and Technology Normal University is composed of the former Jiangxi Normal University of Science and Technology as the main body, and Nanchang College of Technology merged into it. Nanchang Technical College started in 1952; the predecessor of Jiangxi Normal University was Nanchang Branch of Jiangxi Normal University established in 1977. It was renamed Nanchang Teachers College in 1984, and it was upgraded to Nanchang Vocational and Technical Teachers College in 1987. It was renamed in 2002. It is Jiangxi Normal University of Science and Technology. In 2004, Nanchang College was merged into Jiangxi Normal University of Science and Technology. In 2012, the school was renamed Jiangxi Normal University of Science and Technology; in 2014, it was placed under the provincial administration.
