Duke Kunshan University is a non-profit Sino-US cooperative education institution founded by Duke University in the United States and Wuhan University in China in Kunshan City, Jiangsu Province, China. It aims to create a world-class comprehensive research university. And students from all over the world provide diversified academic programs. Duke Kunshan University was formally established with the approval of the Ministry of Education of China in September 2013, and welcomed the first batch of graduate students and undergraduate students in the “Second Campus International Study Semester” in the fall of 2014.
On August 14, 2018, Duke Kunshan University held the 2018 Undergraduate Freshman Opening Ceremony, marking the official opening of the school's four-year undergraduate education. The first undergraduate freshmen came from 27 countries around the world, among which Chinese students and American students were the main student groups.

The campus of Duke Kunshan University covers an area of 200 acres and is located in the Yangcheng Lake Science and Technology Park in Kunshan. It is equipped with advanced classroom and conference facilities, library resources, teacher and student dormitories, restaurants, and leisure facilities. Multifunctional meeting places, lounges and study areas are available for students to study or group discussions about course content, complete homework, and participate in a rich and diverse campus life.
