Taizhou Vocational and Technical College

Taizhou Vocational and Technical College was established with the approval of the former State Education Commission in March 1998. It is one of the first batch of 14 full-time higher vocational and technical colleges in the country. It is also the first general college in Taizhou at prefecture-level. The college is affiliated to the Taizhou Municipal People's Government.


The history of the college can be traced back to the Taizhou Medical College established in 1958 (later renamed Taizhou Health School); in June 1985, the three industrial bureau-run worker colleges merged to form Taizhou Workers College; in March 1998, Taizhou Vocational College was established Technical College: In August 2000, Taizhou Health School was merged into Taizhou Vocational and Technical College as a whole. The college is now a model higher vocational college in Jiangsu Province, and has successively won honorary titles such as Jiangsu Civilized Campus, Harmonious Campus, Garden School and Safe College.


The college is located in the core area of Taizhou National Pharmaceutical High-tech Zone-China Medical City, covering an area of 72.11 hectares. It is a first-class modern campus, ecological campus and smart campus in higher vocational colleges across the country. There are 9 schools and 1 department, including the School of Medical Technology, the School of Mechanical and Electrical Technology, the School of Economics and Management, the School of Information Technology, the School of Pharmacy, the School of Architecture and Engineering, the School of Art, the School of Marxism, the School of Continuing Education, and the Department of Basic Science. In 2020, the college will set up 44 majors. There are 658 faculty members, 403 full-time teachers, and 192 senior-title teachers, including 29 regular college teachers, 282 master and above degree teachers, and 353 dual-qualified teachers, accounting for 87.6%. There are 9,635 full-time students of various types, 9,241 students enrolled in adult education, and more than 20,000 social trainings per year. In the 62 years of running the school, the college has trained more than 80,000 outstanding talents in Taizhou and the Yangtze River Delta region. It is known as "the base for incubating engineering and management talents; the cradle for cultivating white angels and oral guards."


The college has 2 national-level key construction majors, 5 provincial-level characteristic majors, 3 provincial-level key construction major groups, 3 provincial-level backbone majors; 2 national-level training centers and 3 provincial-level training bases There are 2 provincial-level training platforms for in-depth integration of production and education, 1 provincial-level intelligent pharmaceutical production-education integration integration platform, 131 on-campus practice training bases, and 405 off-campus practice training bases jointly established with enterprises and institutions. There are 5 dual-subject colleges. There are 10 provincial and municipal engineering technology research centers, including Jiangsu CNC Machine Tool Engineering Technology R&D Center. There is a national vocational skill appraisal institute, which can carry out 53 vocational skill training and appraisal. The college is the "Ministry of Education-ZTE ICT Industry Innovation Base", ZTE CLAA (China LoRa Alliance) IoT Demonstration Base, and the Ministry of Education's National "Industrial Robot Open Public Training Base" and "ABB/New Times Industrial Robots" The construction unit of the "R&D Application Center", the national outstanding adult continuing education colleges (training institutions), the excellent continuing education correspondence stations of Chinese colleges and universities, the first batch of 1+X certificate system pilot institutions in the country, the first batch of full-time education for social personnel in Jiangsu Province Educational colleges, industrial talent training base in Jiangsu Province, Taizhou Shuangyong College.


In recent years, students have won more than 400 awards in various skill competitions across the province, including 32 national awards and 53 provincial and ministerial awards. The employment rate of graduates, the satisfaction of employers, and the overall satisfaction of alumni with the alma mater are all about 99%. It has been rated as an advanced group for employment of college graduates in Jiangsu Province for 8 consecutive years, and has been rated as a civilized campus in Jiangsu Province for 3 consecutive times.
