Nanjing Vocational College of Tourism

Nanjing Vocational College of Tourism is a full-time public higher education institution under the supervision of the Department of Culture and Tourism of Jiangsu Province. The predecessor of the college can be traced back to the earliest tourism professional school founded in 1978—Jiangsu Provincial Tourism School (later renamed Nanjing Tourism School) and the only domestic institution of higher learning that specializes in cultivating hotel industry management talents—Jinling Hotel, established in 1989 School of Management Cadres. In 2001, the two schools merged to run the school, and in 2007 it was officially transformed into Nanjing Vocational College of Tourism. In 2011, the college successfully passed the evaluation of the level of talent training in higher vocational colleges by the Ministry of Education. In 2018, the college passed the acceptance of Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education and became a model higher vocational college in Jiangsu Province.


The college is located in Nanjing, which is known as the "Ancient Capital of Six Dynasties" and "City of Ten Dynasties". It has two campuses, Jiangning and Huayangang. There are 9 teaching college departments, including Hotel Management College, Tourism Management College, Culinary and Nutrition College, Humanities and Arts College, Continuing Education College, Tourism Foreign Language College, Basic Department, Ideological and Political Department, and Sports Department.


The college currently has more than 340 faculty members. Among the full-time teachers, 73.5% are masters and doctors, and more than 84% are "dual-qualified" teachers.
