Jiangsu Vocational and Technical College of Engineering is a provincial public full-time general higher education school. The school’s history can be traced back to my country’s first textile specialized school founded by the famous patriotic industrialist and educator Mr. Zhang Jian in 1912. It has a history of running a school for one hundred years and has a profound cultural background. Construction and development have cultivated a large number of outstanding talents. With the approval of the Ministry of Education in 1999, the school was independently upgraded to "Nantong Textile Vocational and Technical College". In 2006, it achieved excellent results in the evaluation of the national higher vocational and technical personnel training work level. In 2007, it was identified as a model higher vocational college in Jiangsu Province. The construction unit of the school was designated by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Finance in 2008 as a "National Demonstrative Vocational College Construction Plan". In June 2011, it passed the national acceptance and became a national demonstrative higher vocational college. May 2014 , Approved by the People's Government of Jiangsu Province and filed by the Ministry of Education, the school was renamed Jiangsu Vocational and Technical College of Engineering. In 2018, it was identified as the construction unit of high-level vocational colleges in Jiangsu Province.
School is located in Nantong City, Jiangsu Province, known as the "First City in Modern China", within one hour of Shanghai's economic circle, with convenient transportation and outstanding location advantages. The school covers an area of 573,232 square meters, with a building area of 283,632 square meters. The school has complete teaching facilities, relatively advanced equipment, scientific teaching methods, and extensive use of modern educational technology, which basically realizes the informatization and electronicization of books. The school cooperated with China Aviation Engineering Co., Ltd. to establish the Nantong Aviation Training Center, which successfully obtained the CCAR147 aircraft maintenance training qualification and CCAR66 aircraft maintenance test site of the Civil Aviation Administration of China. It is the only higher vocational college in Jiangsu Province that has obtained these two qualifications at the same time. , The school cooperated with the German KUKA Group to build the KUKA Robot Jiangsu Application and Training Center, which is a designated training unit for skilled talents in the East China region of KUKA Group.
The school currently has more than 10,000 full-time students and is a comprehensive university with engineering as the main body. There are currently 6 secondary colleges and quality teaching departments, including the Textile and Clothing College, the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, the School of Business (Social Management Engineering), the School of Art and Design, the School of Civil Engineering, and the School of Aviation and Traffic Engineering.
