Jiangsu Pharmaceutical Vocational College is a full-time public college-level general college directly under the Provincial Health Commission. It is a model higher vocational college in Jiangsu Province and a school jointly built by the province and city. The predecessor of the school was the Huazhong Health School established by the New Fourth Army in July 1941. In 1958, Yancheng Medical College and Yancheng Traditional Chinese Medicine School were established. In July 1964, it was reorganized as Jiangsu Yancheng Health School. After the country restored the college entrance examination system in 1977, it took a long time to undertake the training tasks of ordinary colleges and undergraduates. In 1996, the five-year higher vocational enrollment began and higher vocational education was carried out. On March 18, 2005, it was approved by the People's Government of Jiangsu Province (Su Zhengfa [2005] No. 25) and filed by the Ministry of Education, and it was upgraded to Yancheng Health Vocational and Technical College. In February 2017, it was renamed Jiangsu Vocational College of Medicine.
