Jiangsu Vocational College of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Technology was founded in September 1958, the school is named "Tai County Agricultural Secondary Technical School". In January 1959, it was renamed "Taizhou Agricultural College"; in September 1961, it was renamed "Taizhou Animal Husbandry and Veterinary School of Jiangsu Province"; in April 1995, it was renamed "Jiangsu Province Animal Husbandry and Veterinary School"; in June 2001, it was independently upgraded to "Jiangsu Vocational Technical College of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine"; in March 2013, it was renamed "Jiangsu Vocational College of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Technology".
The school is the only institution of higher learning in my country’s southeast coastal areas and 14 provinces (municipalities, autonomous regions) in southern my country that focuses on cultivating agricultural and animal husbandry technology and technical skills. It is located at the birth of Hu Jintao, former General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and former President of the State Place-Taizhou City, Jiangsu Province, is also the hometown of the world-renowned artist Mei Lanfang.
In 2005, the school took the lead in the province to pass the first round of evaluation of the talent training level of higher vocational colleges by the Ministry of Education with an "excellent" level; in 2008, it was identified as a "Model Higher Vocational College in Jiangsu Province"; in 2010, it was approved by the Ministry of Education , The Ministry of Finance identified as the first batch of "National Key Vocational College Construction Units" in the "National Demonstrative Higher Vocational College Construction Plan". The school covers an area of 4,600 acres and the school building area is 580,000 square meters. It has formed a "one main and two wings" school structure with the Fenghuang Road campus as the main body and the animal husbandry science and technology park and the Chinese medicine science and technology park as the two wings. The school has more than 200 laboratories and training rooms of various types, including Jiangsu Modern Animal Husbandry Science and Technology Park, Jiangsu Traditional Chinese Medicine Science and Technology Park, Jiangsu Jiangquhai Pig Breeding Farm, Jiangsu Sujiang Breeding Pig Core Breeding Farm, Zhongmu Beikang Pharmaceutical, and teaching There are 36 in-hospital training bases, including animal hospitals, teaching pet hospitals, pastoral scenic spots, and herbal health scenic spots.
