Lianyungang Teachers College is a full-time general higher education school approved by the Ministry of Education in March 2000. It was formed by the merger of the original Lianyungang Education College, Haizhou Normal School and Lianyungang Normal School. Later, Lianyungang Economic Management Cadre School Incorporated in 2002. In 2011, it cooperated with Jiangsu Normal University to establish the Lianyungang campus of Jiangsu Normal University. The original Haizhou Normal School was once the highest school and the cradle of teachers in the "Haigan Shuguan" area.
