Suzhou Industrial Vocational and Technical College is a public college approved by the People's Government of Jiangsu Province in 2003. It is a model higher vocational college in Jiangsu Province. In 2017, it was established as a provincial high-level higher vocational college construction unit. Its predecessor can be traced back to the "Jiangsu Provincial Suzhou Advanced Industrial Vocational School" established in September 1946. It is the earliest engineering vocational technical school established in Suzhou.
The college now has Department of Precision Manufacturing Engineering, Department of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Department of Software and Service Outsourcing, Department of Economics and Trade Management, Department of Construction Engineering and Art Design, Department of International Education, Department of Automotive Engineering, Department of Ideological and Political Teaching, Physical Education 10 teaching units including the Ministry of Education. The college currently has 35 majors and nearly 8,000 full-time students.
