North China College of Nanjing Normal University was established in 1999. It is jointly organized by Nanjing Normal University and Nanjing Normal University Education Development Foundation. It is the first batch of independent colleges approved by the Ministry of Education and approved by the Jiangsu Provincial Institution Registration Administration Established public welfare institutions.

North China College of Nanjing Normal University has two campuses, Xianlin and Danyang. In order to meet the requirements of the medium and long-term education reform and development plan of Jiangsu Province, and better serve the regional economic and social development, the North-China College of Nanjing Normal University, with the support of the Education Department of Jiangsu Province and the Danyang Municipal Party Committee and Government, has invested in the development of education in Danyang City. With the cooperation of the company, the Danyang campus was officially opened in September 2017. The Danyang campus is located at No. 8, Zhengde Road, Danyang City, covering a total area of 900 acres and a total planned construction area of 387,500 square meters. Since September 2017, first-year freshmen enrolled by the college each year are studying at the Danyang campus. Students who enrolled in 2016 and before will continue to study on the Nanjing Xianlin campus until graduation. In September 2020, they will complete all their relocation to Danyang. The Danyang campus has complete infrastructure and superior teaching and research conditions. It is a modern, smart campus, ecological campus, humanistic campus, low-carbon campus, and a brand new campus with open campuses.
The college currently has more than 8,000 students, including humanities, foreign languages, economics and management, public administration, information science and technology, engineering, fine arts, music, and intensive training. There are a total of 8 departments and 1 department, 36 This undergraduate major involves economics, law, literature, science, engineering, management, art and other categories.
The college adheres to the "people-oriented" mission of running a school, actively explores a talent training model suitable for the characteristics of an independent college, and gradually forms a talent training pattern of "wide foundation, compound type, and distinctive features". The college categorizes and trains students to meet the diverse development needs of students: the college takes the lead in opening intensive classes in Jiangsu independent colleges to create conditions for students to enter postgraduate studies; actively promote overseas study plans, and has cooperated with INSEEC University in France and Coventry University in the United Kingdom. , Germany Ilmnau University of Technology, Singapore Chartered Institute of Technology and other universities to establish cooperative relations to create opportunities for students to study abroad; actively carry out vocational qualification certificate training, vigorously build practical teaching bases, and strengthen applied skills education.
