Huaiyin Institute of Technology is a general undergraduate college under the jurisdiction of Jiangsu Province. It is located in Huai'an City, Jiangsu Province, the hometown of the beloved Premier Zhou Enlai and a famous historical and cultural city in the country. The school was founded in 1958 and upgraded to an undergraduate university in 2000. In 2011, it was approved by the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council to serve as a pilot unit for the national special needs master’s degree postgraduate talent training project; it is the national “Excellent Engineer Education and Training Program” and “Excellent Agriculture and Forestry Talent Training” Plan" pilot universities.
The school has two campuses on Meicheng Road and Beijing Road and a university innovation and entrepreneurship base. The campus covers an area of 2,560 acres and the school building area is 670,000 square meters. The school insists on opening up the school, and the international level is constantly rising. The school has established friendly cooperative relations with 36 overseas universities, with an average of nearly 100 overseas exchange students per year, and has long-term hired foreign experts and scholars to teach or give lectures in the school. Cooperated with the University of Lorraine in France, the Nagasaki University of Science and Technology in Japan, the University of South Carolina in the United States, and Chung Hwa University in Taiwan to jointly develop a joint doctoral program, and have successfully graduated with doctoral students. The logistics engineering undergraduate education project in cooperation with the Finnish Jyväskylä University of Applied Sciences was officially approved by the Ministry of Education in the first half of 2018 and was included in the national general higher education enrollment plan.
