Nanjing Railway Vocational and Technical College is a provincial public college-level full-time college approved by the Jiangsu Provincial People's Government and filed by the Ministry of Education. It is a provincial-level model higher vocational college in Jiangsu Province. The predecessor of the school was the Nanjing Special Municipal No. 1 Vocational High School founded in 1941. Since 1955, it has been renamed Nanjing Railway Transportation School and has long been under the management of the Ministry of Railways. In 2002, the school was upgraded to a higher vocational and technical college and renamed as Nanjing Railway Vocational and Technical College. In 2004, the establishment was transferred to the local management of Jiangsu Province by the Ministry of Railways.
After more than 70 years of ups and downs, the members of the Nanjing Railway Institute have always adhered to the historical responsibility of cultivating morality, dedicating to the railway, and serving the society. Quality and skilled talents have won a good social reputation. Since the establishment of the college, the college's career development has opened a new chapter in history. Obtained excellent results in the first evaluation of the level of talent training in higher vocational colleges organized by the Ministry of Education; successfully ranked among the provincial demonstrative higher vocational colleges; fully opened the Pukou new campus; innovated the school system and mechanism, and the industry and regional large-scale Enterprises carry out strategic cooperation, implement order training, build high-level comprehensive training bases, collaborate and innovate and jointly run schools with relevant ordinary colleges and universities, and jointly build college student entrepreneurship parks and technology industrial parks with government authorities and enterprises, reform talent training models, and talent training quality constantly improving. After ten years of hard work, the comprehensive strength of the college has been rapidly improved, and the career development has entered a new historical period.
The college is based in Jiangsu, facing the whole country, focusing on serving the Yangtze River Delta region, based on the railway and urban rail transit industry, facing the regional economy, opening schools, running schools with special characteristics, and is committed to cultivating first-class high-skilled talents, promoting education and teaching reforms, and building railroads in the Yangtze River Delta region.
