Jiangsu Police Academy is the first batch of provincial public security undergraduate colleges established in my country. The predecessor of the college was Nanjing Public Security School founded in 1949 and was renamed Jiangsu Public Security School in 1953. Jiangsu Public Security College was established in 1982, merged with the former Jiangsu Provincial People's Police School in 1998, and merged with the former Jiangsu Provincial Judicial School in 2000. In 2002, it was upgraded to an undergraduate college and renamed as Jiangsu Police Officer College. In 2007, he accepted the undergraduate teaching level evaluation organized by the Ministry of Education and obtained a "good" conclusion. In 2011, it was listed by the Provincial Academic Degree Committee as a provincial-level construction unit for professional degree postgraduate training. Since 2012, it has cooperated with Nanjing Normal University and Nanjing University of Technology to provide postgraduate education for master's degree. In 2015 and 2016, it was approved to establish two provincial think tanks, the Institute of Modern Police Reform of the Ministry of Public Security and the Jiangsu Institute of Public Security. Since its establishment 70 years ago, the college has always adhered to the party’s overall leadership, implemented the party’s educational policy, adhered to the mission of serving the public security cause, kept up with the requirements of the times, determined to reform and innovate, and effectively used the main channel of Jiangsu public security personnel transmission and on-the-job police training. The main campus of the college is located in Pukou District, Nanjing. There are two campuses, Andemen and Longtan, with a campus area of 1,006 acres. There are Department of Public Security Management, Department of Public Security Management, Department of Investigation, Department of Criminal Science and Technology, Department of Computer Information and Network Security, Department of Ideological and Political Theory Teaching and Research, Department of Police Physical Education (Department of Police Command and Tactics), Department of Basic Courses, Department of Law Waiting for the teaching department. Among the full-time teachers, there are 146 teachers with senior professional titles, and 250 teachers with doctoral and master's degrees. The college undertakes the tasks of training members of the leadership of the city and county public security organs, department-level cadres of the provincial and departmental organs, heads of the police department of the city and county public security organs, captains of grassroots stations, and the civilian police and foreign police training tasks assigned by the Ministry of Public Security.
The college adheres to the policy of building a political police and political school, promotes public security education to be close to actual combat and integrates into actual combat, cultivates "selfless dedication" school motto and "political firm, hard-working, pragmatic work style, strict police discipline" school style, and cultivates loyalty, reliability, strict discipline and foundation High-quality applied professionals with solid, civil and military skills. Since its resumption in 1978, the college has trained and transported more than 48,000 full-time graduates to public security and judicial organs at all levels in the province. Currently, graduates account for 42.7% of the total number of public security police in the province, and 80% of them have become public security organs at all levels in the province. And the leaders or business backbones of various police types, departments, and grassroots teams are known as "the cradle of Jiangsu public security talents." More than 1,900 of the graduates have been commended by individuals for second-class merit or above, and nearly 100 have been awarded the titles of first-class and second-class heroes in the national public security system, national outstanding police officers, national or provincial model workers; more than 40 leaders of political and legal public security organs at or above the deputy department level There are 7 directors of prefectural and municipal public security bureaus, more than 400 leaders of county-level public security organs, and more than 300 department-level leading cadres of provincial and municipal public security organs. In recent years, teachers and students have achieved outstanding results in major competitions such as the Second National Public Security College Teaching Skills Competition. They have participated in major events such as the Nanjing Youth Olympic Games, the G20 Hangzhou Summit, the BRICS Summit in Xiamen, and the SCO Qingdao Summit. Outstanding performance, the Ministry of Public Security for the Academy Records collective first class twice. The college has successively won titles such as "Civilized Unit of Jiangsu Province" and "Civilized School of Jiangsu Province". After years of development, the college has established a discipline and professional system with distinctive public security characteristics. The first-level discipline of "Public Security" has been included in the superior discipline construction project of Jiangsu colleges and universities, and there are four provincial key construction disciplines, including public security technology, law, public management, and litigation law. There are 16 full-time undergraduate majors, including 2 national characteristic major construction sites, 2 professional comprehensive reform pilot projects of the Ministry of Education, 1 key major construction point of the Ministry of Public Security, 6 provincial university characteristic major construction points, and provincial key majors ( Category) 2 and 2 provincial brand professional construction projects. There are 1 national practical education base construction project for college students and 6 provincial experimental teaching and practical education centers. There are Nanjing Chinese Fingerprint Museum, the Republic of China Police History Museum, and the Gun Development History Museum. The Ministry of Public Security has successively established three training bases including science and technology informatization in the college.
The level of scientific research ability of the college has been continuously improved. In the past three years, a total of 332 scientific research projects have been established, including 8 national projects and 55 provincial and ministerial projects; teachers have published a total of 886 academic papers, including 132 core journal papers, 54 papers included in SCIEICSSCI journals, and 49 academic works published Ministry; won 13 scientific research achievement awards above the city hall level; won 24 patents. In recent years, provincial think tanks have strengthened cooperative research with public security agencies, and have achieved a large number of important results with promotion value. More than 10 decision-making consultation reports have been approved or adopted by provincial leaders, and more than 30 research results have been approved by the province. The public security organs adopt or promote the application. "Journal of Jiangsu Police Officer Academy" was rated as China's Excellent Social Science Journal, Jiangsu Provincial First-Class Periodical, and selected as "Chinese Humanities and Social Sciences Evaluation Report Extended Journal" by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.
The college pays attention to foreign exchanges, adheres to open education, and has established good cooperative relations with public security agencies, enterprises and institutions, and police education institutions at home and abroad. In recent years, police delegations from more than 10 countries and regions including the United States, Britain, Canada, Hong Kong, etc. have visited the school, and many internationally renowned experts and scholars have come to the school to give lectures. The college was identified by the Ministry of Public Security as the executive unit of the foreign talent introduction project and the organizer of the China-EU police training project. Since 2015, it has successively completed the training tasks for more than 300 foreign police officers in 29 countries issued by the Ministry of Public Security, and undertook the "International Police Liaison Exchanges" and "China-Europe IPKEY Project Intellectual Property Criminal Enforcement Training" and other intellectual introduction projects.
