Hunan Metropolitan Vocational College was founded in 1981, formerly known as Hunan Information Management College. In February 2007, it was upgraded to a full-time general higher vocational college approved by the Hunan Provincial People's Government, under the supervision of the Changsha Municipal People's Government.
The college is located in "One District and Two Parks" in Changsha City (that is, the National Changsha Economic and Technological Development Zone, Hunan Printing Industrial Park, Huanghua International Airport Industrial Park), adjacent to Changsha Huanghua International Airport, Changsha South Railway Station (high-speed rail station), Changsha Automobile Dongzhan is adjacent to 15 Fortune 500 companies.
The college has six departments and two departments: Aviation Services and Urban Rail Management, Construction Engineering, Economic Information Management, Printing Technology, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Foreign Languages, Five-Year College and Basic Courses, and 30 general high schools. Vocational majors, recruiting students nationwide, there are currently more than 12,000 students, more than 880 faculty members, and more than 100 part-time teachers in industry enterprises.
The college covers an area of 430 acres, with a building area of nearly 220,000 square meters, teaching and research equipment worth nearly 50 million yuan, nearly 1 million paper books, 1600GB e-books, and more than 1,000 kinds of newspapers and magazines. The college has five on-campus training bases. Among them, the printing and packaging training base is a training base supported by the central government, and the CNC mold training base is an on-campus productive training base built with Great Wall Machinery Equipment Co., Ltd., all with teaching and production facilities. , Training and other multiple functions; aviation service, rail transit training base is a simulation training base, with ticketing, check-in, security, gate, broadcasting, signal, cabin or cabin services and other training functions; construction engineering training base is The scene teaching and training base featuring on-site construction demonstrations focuses on cultivating students' practical ability in building structure, building materials, building construction, decoration and decoration. The college has opened up a wide range of employment channels, signed school-enterprise cooperation agreements and order training contracts with many famous enterprises, and actively provided employment services for students. There are currently 105 stable off-campus internship and employment bases, most of which are distributed around the college. They mainly include: Huanghua International Airport, Changsha Railway Group, Laojian Group, Gulbang Curtain Wall Company, Dianshi Home Decoration, Lansi Technology, Broad Air Conditioning, San First Heavy Industry, Tianwen Printing, Xiangwei Color Printing, ADLINK Printing, Sandsley Color Printing, Changfeng Cheetah, LG Electronics, General Moulding, Eton Technology, etc. In the past three years, the employment rate of graduates has been above 98%.
