Xiangtan Medical and Health Vocational and Technical College is a public full-time medical and health vocational college that recruits students from all over the country. In August 2001, with the approval of the Hunan Provincial People's Government, the former Xiangtan Workers' College and Xiangtan Electromechanical Industry Technical Secondary School merged to form Xiangtan Vocational and Technical College; in November 2004, the original Xiangtan Health School was merged as a whole.
