Hunan Automotive Engineering Vocational College is a public higher vocational college established in 2005 with the approval of the Hunan Provincial People’s Government. It was named "Zhuzhou Vocational and Technical College" at the time. It was a public higher vocational college jointly established by the Zhuzhou Municipal People’s Government and the China Automotive Engineering Society. The business is under the guidance of the Hunan Provincial Department of Education. The school is a high-level professional group construction unit with Chinese characteristics, a national high-quality junior vocational college, a national vocational education advanced unit, a national vocational college charming campus, a civilized model campus in Hunan Province, the first batch of outstanding vocational colleges in Hunan Province, The Chinese People’s Liberation Army’s oriented training colleges for noncommissioned officers, the Hunan Provincial Free Teacher-Student Joint Training College, the lead unit of the Hunan Automobile Vocational Education Group, and the Hunan “Top Ten Safe” series of demonstration units.
The school is located in Zhuzhou City, Hunan Province, with convenient transportation and beautiful environment. It covers an area of 1,055 acres and the school building area is 300,000 square meters. The school currently has 14,172 students and 667 on-the-job faculty members, including 563 full-time teachers, 81.87% of double-qualified teachers, 52.04% of teachers with master's degree and above, and 38.90% of senior titles. The college adheres to the school idea of “based on the automotive industry, serving the automotive industry, cultivating automotive talents, and building automotive brands”. It consists of the School of Noncommissioned Officer Education, School of Vehicle Engineering, School of Vehicle Application, School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, School of Information Engineering, School of Economics and Management, and Art Seven secondary colleges, including the School of Design, offer 30 majors such as automotive, electromechanical, information, and economics and trade. There are 2 national vocational school demonstration majors, 1 modern apprenticeship pilot major of the Ministry of Education, 3 first-class characteristic professional groups in Hunan Province, 1 national vocational education teacher teaching innovation team, and presiding over the construction of national vocational education professional teaching 3 resource banks. It has built the only "1 station + 10 center" collaborative innovation platform for the entire automotive industry chain that focuses on the research of automotive intelligent driving technology and centers on the workstation of Academician Li Deyi of the Chinese Academy of Engineering.
