Hunan Vocational College of Labor and Human Resources is located in Changsha, a famous historical and cultural city in China. It is located at No. 1319 Kaiyuan East Road, Xingsha Industrial Base, Changsha Economic and Technological Development Zone. The predecessor of the college was the Hunan Labor and Personnel School established in April 1987 with the approval of the Provincial People’s Government (based on the Hunan Labor Technical School). In order to meet the urgent need for skilled talents for economic and social development, in 1998 the former Hunan Provincial Planning Commission and the Hunan Provincial Labor Department jointly issued a document agreeing to restore the Hunan Provincial Labor Technical School. The government approved the establishment of Hunan Technician College, and the Hunan Provincial Labor and Personnel School implements two brands and one team to run the school. In April 2013, the Provincial People's Government agreed to set up the Hunan Labor and Personnel Vocational College and revoke the organizational system of the Hunan Labor and Personnel School. In April 2014, Hunan Vocational College of Labor and Human Resources was filed with the Ministry of Education as a college-level higher vocational college and included in the sequence of ordinary colleges and universities.
The college currently has nearly 5,000 students and more than 250 faculty members, including 180 full-time teachers and nearly 50 full-time teachers at or above associate professors. The college currently has four departments: Department of Human Resources and Social Security, Department of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Department of Quality and Information Technology, and Department of Business and Tourism.
