Hunan Industrial Vocational and Technical College is a higher vocational and technical college approved by the Ministry of Education in 1999. The predecessor of the school-Hunan Industrial School was founded in 1955. It is a national exemplary higher vocational college, the first batch of exemplary higher vocational colleges in Hunan Province, and the first batch of outstanding college construction units in Hunan Province.
The school is located in Yuelu Science and Technology Industrial Park, Yuelu District, Changsha City. It covers an area of 1031 acres, with a construction area of 380,000 square meters, fixed assets of 678 million yuan, more than 2,000 sets of various advanced training equipment, the original value of the equipment exceeds 100 million yuan, and the collection of books 850,000 copies. The school has 448 full-time teachers, including 168 teachers with senior technical positions above associate professor, 1 national "teaching teacher", 1 national excellent teacher, 2 provincial "teaching teachers", and 7 provincial professional leaders. There are 17 provincial young backbone teachers and 15 domestic visiting scholars.
